Ahhh, the pleasures of living in a small town! Our local paper writes up quick results for the city league softball games and they include the scores of the games as well as those hitters who stood out. Well, I made the paper this week! I can't remember the team we played, but we lost 24-9. The entry for me said:
"Dee Kingston went 2-for-3 with 5 RBIs for the GSH Stretchers."
I text messaged my teammates and Heather Kenagy (of My Xeloda fame - see http://deeupdates.blogspot.com/2008/04/my-xeloda-by-heather-kenagy.html).
wrote back, "We're going to have to start calling you Deechiro"!! (Just so you know, all my friends are Mariners fans.)
So, even though my radiation burn under my right armpit prevents me from throwing a softball very well, I can still bat! HAAA!
I just might have to get a t-shirt with that name on it! Hee hee hee
(Sheesh, have I no shame? What's with all the bragging, huh?)

Way to go Dee! I just got caught up with your blog. You have so much going on. I am so impressed with what you can accomplish while also dealing with treatment. All that and softball too. One more time, Way to go!
Hi Carver,
I finally got caught up with my blog! I've been too busy and today, I'm paying for it. I'm really tired and dragging and my chest is congested and the burn bothers me. I'm going to try to take it easy this evening as I'm supposed to drive up to Seattle tomorrow to see Jeanne for the Blogger's Reunion. I think I found the limits of my endurance again!
Thanks for visiting, though! Hey, Maureen has the August Mandala of the Month up at her site ... it looks interesting! I'm going to pop over to your blog and see how you're doing .. .
Yay Dee! Great job! I am amazed at your ability to keep up with everything! And you have been busy. You know I look forward to reading your blog every so often to see whats going on. You inspire me, I'm sure I've said that before... it doesn't hurt to mention it again. Keep busy! Miss you guys and tell Eddie we say hello!
Hey Charlene,
Well, I'm glad that you like reading the blog. And, continuing to play softball brings me pleasure. I didn't make the paper this week . . . bummer! ... we miss you guys, too. We were in Lincoln City a couple of weeks ago and I thought about our day at the coast last summer - that perfect sunny summer day with hardly any wind. I was wishin' you were down here! Didn't you say it'd be nice to find a man down here? Isn't it about time to take another look? Hee hee!
It be wonderful to travel there. Considering the crappy weather we've been having in Alaska. Perhaps later this year I can plan a trip after school starts. Life if alright here, we're just busy doing the subsistence thing before winter... Miss you guys and we think of all of you often.
